Mass culture has become a remarkable cultural phenomenon of contemporaryChina which under the influence of information technology revolution andglobalization, since the reform and opening. Adolescents who live under thebackground of mass culture, their ideology, values, psychological state, thinkingmode and behavior must be influenced. Analyzing the influence of mass culture onyouth values, improving youth values education and helping adolescents to set upcorrect values, are the key research problems to reflect of the whole society. The fulltext is divided into four parts:The first part introduction, on the basis of the analysis of the background, I pointout that the mass culture, as a "double-edged sword", has a positive impact foradolescents in the rich knowledge and promotes the socialization. However, it willinevitably affect the youth values by the excessive entertainment and commercialcontent. Under the influence of various low values of mass culture, teenagers will bemisled by the wrong values. In this situation, explore the youth values educationtheory, ways, methods and ideas. On the one hand, it can enrich the content of youthvalues education in theoretical aspects, and develop the Marxism values education.On the other hand, it can enhance the actual effect of ideological and politicaleducation and cultivate the new generation of people for socialist harmonious society.The second part is the adolescent values and the mass culture. First of all, clarifythe meaning of values, youth values, the formation process and characteristics ofyouth values, which lays the theoretical foundation for mass culture influence onyouth values. Secondly, clarify the meaning of mass culture, analyze thecharacteristics of mass culture, and explain the effect of the mass culture on youthvalues spread way. The third part is the influence of mass culture on youth values and the reasonanalysis. It is twofold that the effects of mass culture on youth values. The positiveinfluence of mass culture for youth values have four aspects, it creates a culturalatmosphere, shape character independent values, promote social dominant values ofinternalization and provide the value of health psychology. At the same time, massculture have negative influence on youths morality, national identity, politics, life andaesthetic, consumption and other negative value cognition. This article has carried onthe cause analysis for negative effects, it explains from five aspects, the adolescentsthemselves, school education, family and social education, the education of Chineseculture and western values.The fourth part, the countermeasure research of youth values education under thebackground of mass culture. In the aspect of traditional culture education, we shouldimprove the appeal of traditional cultural and enhance the national identity of youths.In the aspect of school education, we should reform the existing education system tohighlight the significance of values education, such as establishing a mechanism ofmoral education first, student-oriented system, teaching mechanism, and theenvironmental education system. In terms of social forces, we should exert thepositive role of family, the government and the media to provide a good environmentfor youth values education. The youth themselves should strive to improve the moralaccomplishment, legal consciousness and media literacy, so that they are able torationally treat the western decadent values of mass culture.
