The Impact Of Micro Blog On Local Government Credibility

The government’s authority comes through its public credibility, which is thecornerstone to maintain a well running economy and also the necessary condition tobuild a harmony society. Different from the Central Government deploying thestrategies to manage and develop this country on the whole, the local government’sresponsibility is to execute the strategic decisions issued by the Central Governmentand other managing tasks. They are closer to the public. With the current rapiddevelopment of mobile data, micro blogging politics nowadays become a popularway for the citizens to express their political appeals. In such environment whereeveryone is a “journalist”, if the character of the micro blogging is not wellrecognized and managed, it could, to some extent, block the interaction with thepublic and the development of the local government. Credit is the core of the socialistsystem of trust, credit loss of the government will inevitably jeopardize the continuedexistence of political status, affect the stability of the development of social andeconomic fields etc.In this paper, with the literature research method, and the combining theory andpractice method to analyze the micro blog’s impact on the credibility of thegovernment. Through the research we found that the micro blog provides an open andtransparent political environment and a objective situation where challenges andopportunities coexists, and despite the difficulty to distinguish the truth from themassive fake information, it contributed to the government’s own reform andimprovement as well. Through the analysis, it’s also found the fact that microblogging leads to the government’s credibility crisis is mainly due to some shortage ofthe government’s self-construction and the flaws of their micro blog managing.Through the analysis of those influence and reasons and to increase thecredibility of the government, the author makes some suggestions such as the government needs to change their concept, to push to publicize government affairs, tomake fully usage of the traditional media, to carry out a complete package of the realname authentication among the micro blog systems, to accelerate the action for thespecial micro blog legislative and to promote the quality and ability of the public’smedia monitoring activities etc.
