In recent years, with the development of new rural construction, rural economic level has got a high improvement and the farmers’ living standard has improved a lot too. But the farmers who have free from busy farming did not involve in the rich public life. On the contrary side, the change of the rural public life reflects a reality that rural public life has faded, which has gone to the opposite of the goal of rural good governance. Therefore, how to rebuild the rural public life and make it play an effective role in the process of rural governance has become the subject to be solved immediately.In this paper, through search a large number of literature material and do some field research,found that great changes have taken place in rural public living conditions since the reform and opening up. Firstly, A large number of farmers work in city lead to a reduction of the rural public life main participants. Secondly, under the background of social transformation, the farmers’ public awareness in the influence of interest differentiation has become weak and weak. What’s more, the decline of traditional rural public space make public life lost its carrier. It is in these practical difficulties, the increasingly atomization and private life state has become the performance of the waning rural public life.On the basis of the data reference and field survey, found that the rich rural public life has a good optimization effect for rural governance practices. For example, it can improve the efficiency of the rural governance through promote the spread of information and communication, and reduce the internal friction of rural governance through cultivate the villagers public consciousness. And also can regulate the behavior of the rural governance body through the supervision by public opinion, and promote rural social capital accumulation by promote the villagers’ understanding and interaction. Therefore, we should pay full attention to the effect of this traditional resource in the rural public governance practice, and find a effective way to stimulate the healthy development of the rural public life to provide a feasible path for the rural governance towards good governance.
