As the scale of rural left-behind children growing, rural left-behind children problem,especially the problem of socialization is increasingly which has been brought to the attention of the academia.Currently,the mass media are increasingly involved in the rural children’s daily life and make important influence on the social mechanism.Current research about media influence on children’s socialization are more focused on urban children,which is less on rural left-behind children; Research perspectives are more focused on the content analysis of media influence on children’s socialization, the access of the behavior of media contact are less; Research content are more focused on the analysis of the impact of the Internet TV, while the analysis of mobile phone MP3 / MP4 tablets and other new electronic media is less.In this study, the author combined with the theory of sociology and communication studies, taking the perspective of subject crossing, and carried on the empirical research on the rural left-behind children behavior of media contact and their social status through to the country side of Wuhan,Huangpi.The research finds:First,television is the most frequent contact, the longest media types to rural left-behind children, as for radio and newspaper,contact degree is very low, but the new electronic media,such as mobile phone, tablet computer is of high degree of contact. Mobile phone, is becoming a high degree of left-behind children in contact with the second type of medium only to TV.Secondly,the length of the content and media contact preferences between left-behind children and unleft-behind, there are significant differences.Thirdly,there is significant difference in the social compared with non left-behind children, rural left-behind children are more impulsive Loneliness and always have missing emotion. But also show some different features to the most existing research conclusion:compared with non left-behind children,Wangjiahe street left-behind children behave more bold and more diligent observed on the school discipline and actively participate in collection.Fourthly,the characteristics of individual differences of Rural left-behind children was significantly associated with and media contact behavior.Whether gender age,parents’ education,family relationships,school interpersonal differences of left-behind children, also showed differences in media contact behavior.Fifthly,rural left-behind children media exposure was significantly associated with differences in behavior and its social status, media contact behavior will influence the social status of left-behind children.Finally, the author, according to research conclusions, give some suggestions on how to impact left-behind children’s socialization by using the media contact behavior.
