Psychological Status And Correction Of Offenders

The prison system began to explore the psychological correction of offenders at 1980 s, by the effect of social background and the domestic and international situation. With the continuous development and progress of society, more and more attention focused on the prison system, this requires the promotion of continuous improvement of prison system, as well as the execution of criminals requires scientific in humane. Therefore, psychological correction of offenders occupies an increasingly important position in regulatory transformation of prison system. Psychological correction is a part of the prison inmates and education reform; however, it is different from the traditional ways. As a relatively independent working method, it plays an irreplaceable role.This paper based on the theories of psychological correction of offenders. At the beginning, it gives the definition of related concepts, and elaborates from the perspectives of criminal psychology, treatment and transformation, psychological correction. Secondly, through the research and analysis of current psychological correction of offenders, and by case study, this paper analyzes of the current status of the offender and discusses the difficulties of psychological correction of offenders. At last, by using the psychological assessment of offenders, offender counseling, mental health education and other methods, this paper proposes some advice and suggestion of how to develop the psychological correction of offenders.
