Based on the current background of serious empty nest phenomenon and the pension problem of empty nesters, especially empty nesters in rural mountainous areas, increasingly become urgent, this paper selected Tian’e town in Renshou County in Sichuan Province as actual research sites to explore the pension model of empty nesters in rural mountainous areas of Sichuan Province.I researched the life status quo of empty nesters in Tian’e rural countryside throuth interviews, observation and other research methods, and found empty nesters in rural mountainous areas of Tian’e town and Sichuan faced with many pension issues:low economic security, lack of life care, high prevalence and low health care, lack of spiritual solace, difficult travel. I deeply analyzed the deep-seated reasons and found that the fundamental reason is the special geographical environment. Thus, The key to the pension problem of empty nesters in rural mountainous areas is to overcome the problem of special geographical environment.I studied the theory of social security:social exchange theory, the theory of public goods, social support theory and welfare theory of pluralism. I think family, country, community and society should bear the responsibility to supply the pension resources.I analyzed the pension model in Huade county in Inner Mongolia and Bing county in Shanxi. and I found their common success is that mutual happiness nursing home support scattered elderly centrally, but they also have some drawbacks. So I think the establishment of pension model in rural mountainous areas must be based on the special geographical environment and economic foundations, and the scattered problems of empty nesters, and meet the different needs of rural empty nesters, and control the economic costsOn the basis of empirical study and theoretical study. I proposed diversified centralized mutual pension model:Use centralized or relatively centralized way to support elderly for different older age groups. Old people help each other effectively to achieve the common pension needs. I designed the model specifically.
