The Research Of Hangzhou’s "Open" Urban Governance

After entering 21st century, China’s urbanization process is accelerated. The city has played more and more important role in the development of China. At the same time, urban governance has become an important issue in Chinese local government.The dissertation first reviews the domestic and overseas urban governance researches in a comprehensive analysis and commentary, and also analyses the urban governance theory and its impact on Chinese cities. Secondly, the dissertation chooses the practice of Hangzhou’s urban governance as the case, analyses the causes of formation, the basic types, the main features and other aspects in detail of Hangzhou’s "open" urban governance.The dissertation makes a conclusion that "open" urban governance admits realistically that the leading role of the government in the city, but also stressed that the other parts of the city play the main role by interaction with the government. So "open" urban governance is the governance model which suited to Chinese national conditions and the urban reality. Thus, the dissertation presents the specific connotations of urban governance participation etc, and discusses some practical limitations of its problems. Finally the article makes some advices of the urban government, the social and the environment to "open" urban governance.
