Research On Internet Public Opinions And Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Government

The development and popularization of internet have broaden the way for thepublic to express their opinions and people’s awareness of self-right maintenance andpublic right supervision also keeps growing. China is in a crucial period of reform anddevelopment, which contains diversified interests, explicit social contradictions andrising conflicts. Confronted with frequent incidents of internet public opinions,shortcomings in government’s ability to cope with them are becoming apparent,which will influence government’s image and social stability. Therefore, research oninternet public opinions and government strategy becomes a new topic at all levels ofgovernment.This thesis analyzes the influence internet public opinions have on governanceand the current situation of government’s coping with internet public opinions, pointsout the problems emerging from government’s coping with internet public opinionsand concludes the general ways that government deals with internet public opinions,by studying the meaning of internet public opinions and correlation theory and takingcases of internet public opinions in Wuxi for instance. Firstly, this thesis introducesthe purpose of this research, the significance of this research, the concept of publicopinions, the concept of internet public opinions, the current situation of research at home and abroad, research thinking, the thesis structure and research method.Secondly, this thesis systematically analyzes the influence internet public opinionshave on governance. Make research on main manifestation of internet public opinionsand more and more attention government pays to those opinions based on analysis ofthe rise and development of internet public opinions, and further analyze the positiveand negative influence the rise of internet public opinions has on governance. Then,this thesis analyzes the developing process of government’s coping with internetpublic opinions, the coping features and achievements. And on this basis, concludethe current situation of government’s coping with internet public opinions. Next, thisthesis analyzes the problems emerging from government’s coping with internet publicopinions, including three aspects: imperfect institution, lack of ability andconsummate information management system of internet public opinions. Finally,this thesis mainly aiming at those problems, puts forward general ways thatgovernment can deal with internet public opinions and elaborates from the followingaspects: perfecting the laws and regulations system, improving the governmentinformation publicity system, building the internet spokesman system; making greaterefforts in R&D, strengthening technical control of internet public opinions, using newmedia actively, improving media’s quality; making warning plans led by internetpublic opinions in advance, strengthening timely information public responsemechanism in internet public opinions’ incidents and intensifying reactive disposaland following feedback.
