Research On The Construction Of The Localization Of Evidence-based Correction

Evidence-based correction is a proven effective intervene practice to prevent re-crime,and it further reduces the overall crime rate. Due to its scientific basis, specific target andpracticality, the benefit of implementation of the evidence-based correction in China ispromising, which can be complementary to current Chinese prisons’ re-habilitationpractices in force, overcome the shortfalls and defects still exist. To introduce theevidence-based correction into Chinese re-habitation system, the local content must betaken in to consideration to prevent possible negative impact, though the supportivefoundation is solid in current practices.This article analyzes the origin, function, characteristics and practical framework ofEvidence-based correction, and specifically discusses the implementation of the practice ina local content, via the cases studies of Jiang Su prisons’ correction work. The experienceand path to localize the evidence-based correction is summarized here to serve as aninitiative for future evidence-based correction research in Chinese re-habilitationinstitutions and prisons, to fully release the potential of the new practice and improve theChinese re-habilitation system.
