With the accelerating process of urbanization and increasing demand for labor resources in the urban market, a large number of rural surplus labors, who flock to the cities, have formed an irreplaceable main force—"migrant workers". They make great contribution to the urban construction, increase household income, and promote the development of local economy, however, with the further development of labore irndustry, it brings many social problems. Left-behind children is the direct product of the development of laborer industry. Due to restriction of urban-rural dual structure, the household registration system and their own economic conditions, etc, many children are left behind at home. They are supervised by the guardian, when their parents go out to work. The auther think left-behind children are at a critical stage of growth and development, they need parents’ accompany and guidance. Parents’ going out for a long time, weakens the left-behind childrens’ family sense of belonging and leads to emotional problems, which is not conducive to physical and mental development of the left-behind children. Therefore, this paper will research rural left-behind children’s emotional problem and put forward the improvement measures.This paper will be divided into six parts. The first part mainly elaborates the background and significance of this study, generalizes and summarizes the present state of left-behind children at home and abroad, and briefly introduces the research methods that will be used in this paper; The second part mainly introduces the related concepts and theoretical basis of research; In the third part, the author have investigated the current situation of left-behind children’s emotion in Wangguantun town, Dabaideng town, Ao Shi town Elementary School in Yanggao country. Several teachers and students are interviewed at the same time. The author analyses the collected data and information from the survey result of left-behind children’s emotional problems; The fourth part analyzes the cause of emotional problems, and explains the dangers of left-behind children’s emotional problems from the left-behind children themselves, families, schools, society separately; The fifth part puts forward some countermeasures for the improvement of the rural left-behind children’s emotional problems from family, school, society and left-behind children themselves; The conclusion in the last part is the overall summary of this paper.
