Study On The Ways Of Political Participation Of Farmers In The Rural Grass Roots Democracy

China has a huge rural population. As the largest social group, thepolitical participation of farmers has the most important influence.At the sametime, the political participation of farmers has an affect on Grass-rootsdemocracy in rural areas. The villager autonomy has entered a stage of stabledevelopment in rural areas.Farmers’ democracy consciousness gradually isawakened and the participating enthusiasm is generally improved.the state alsoprovides a channel for the political participation of farmers. However, dueto these factors: economic, cultural development level and the level of thepolitical system,there is still a certain gap between political participationlevel and the democratic political construction requirements. This paper isbased on the Marx’s thought of political participation and point out the existingrestrictive factors of farmers’ political participation. At the last,this paper putforward the select path of expanding the rational political participation offarmers.This paper is mainly divided into four parts to discuss the political participation way for farmers in the rural grass-roots democracy. The first partdescribes the concept of the political participation of farmers of the Marxdoctrine. Firstly, combining the research of scholars at home and abroad toconcept definition "political participation" and "peasant political participation".Secondly, introducing Chinese socialism theory about the views of the politicalparticipation of farmers. The second part focuses on the description of thehistorical process of farmers’ political participation based on illustrating therelationship between rural grassroots democratic political construction and thepolitical participation of farmers. This part also analysis three differenthistorical stages of the political participation of farmers and summarizes thecharacteristics of political participation of Chinese farmers. The third partfocuses on the analysis of ways of political participation of Chinese farmers.By combining four typical case, the paper illustrate the main way of politicalparticipation for peasants in china and point out the existing problems ofcurrent political participation of farmers.In the end,it also analyzes the reasonsfrom two aspects: subjective factors and objective conditions. The fourth partfocuses on describing the experience and enlightenment of peasants’participation in the construction of democratic politics. This paper put forwardthe countermeasure from four aspects: strengthen the construction of system,raise awareness of democracy, the development of rural economy,improvement of the degree of peasant organizations.
