In recent years, Chinese philanthropy is growing fast, with all kinds of social initiatives abound. Meanwhile, as the number of rural migrants increasing year by year, the problem of their children’s education becomes the focus of public attention. So the government has promulgated a series of polices to protect the education right of migrant children. However, when the problem of migrant children’s enrollment was solved, the problem of educational quality follows by, especially about the problem of migrant children’s academic performance, which concerns their future. This article is based on X project in Kunming migrant community and studies the impact of X on migrant children’s academic performance. Then this paper discusses how to improve the service effect of migrant children’s project, to improve the efficiency in the use of charitable resources.The full text includes five parts. The first part is introduction; it introduces the background and significance of research, sums up the related documents and data. The second chapter points out the research framework, defines the main concepts and presents the theoretical basis. The third chapter introduces basic situation of X project, and then introduces the service content of X project from the aspects of individual, family and community. The forth chapter is to estimate the influence of X project on migrant children’s academic performance through the data obtained from the questionnaire and the interview. The study starts form the following three aspects:knowledge and skills, process and methods and emotion, attitude and values. The fifth chapter proposes the advantages and disadvantages of X project, making suggestions for improvement. And then the paper comes to a conclusion that migrant children who often included in X project did get a greater improvement in academic performance. But those who barely participated in X project benefited less. Finally the thesis initiates the society to pay enough attention to migrant children’s education problem for their better future.
