As years gone by, innovatory steps in science and information technology are taken by the world economic boost and give birth to the new media, especially the sudden raise of “the fifth medium”, after newspaper radio television and magazine, called by scholars. Our lives are soon bounded with the new media as it is widely spreaded and applicated in broad ways. Under this atmosphere, social communicative apps like “Microblog” “Wechat” “Tencent QQ” and other smart phone shopping apps like “Taobao” “Jingdong” and “The 1st Store” are popular through the nation.Just like spear and shield, every one thing is a unity of opposites. We see the convenience and efficiency that new media bring to us, meanwhile we see the problems that occur to our public opinion. Mass jumble and intolerableness are current situation under the atmosphere of the new media. A series of powerful media release news reports to catch people?s eyes and make commercial benefits, which lead to domino effects that create blind-fellows and rumor-makers, erase some people?s senses and values, mess public opinion up, and boost passivism up. All of these exerts a negative impact on the enrichment of upright forces in our nation. The public opinion under the new media is alarming.The forms now taken by the new media in our nation is various, and the internet platforms and apps are distinctive. Many of them involved with false report, sensationalization and even swindle. How to monitor and manage the public opinion under the new media is a challenge confronted by our central government, the ministry of public security, the bureau of intellecture publication and SARFT of PRC. More importantly, it attracts deep thinking and discussion and also my interests on the study of supervision towards public opinions in our nation.Backgrounds and significance, current study home and abroad, main idea and method are fully illustrated in this study. Started with language environment of the new media, the author makes a deep study on the current situation of our public opinions by the new media. Then the author tries to seek out solutions to supervise our public opinions by multi-methods through comparative study, as well as on the basis of the roots of the problem we are facing in public opinion.
