Accordingly, in this article, " The equipped and the use of guns by police" is selected as the object of the study, analysis of present problems in the use of guns by police, study the guns used abroad are mentioned, highlighted the necessity of improvement of the use of firearms in China, and improve the legal response to corrective actions.Because the highly lethal characteristics of guns, so the guns be equipped properly or not is a matter of national security, political stability and a great significance to protect people’s lives. Especially with China’s rapid social and economic development and the gradually enhance legal awareness of the general public, in particular the 18 session of the plenum stressed that "governing the country to the law", for creating favourable conditions for social harmony and stability, and providing effective protection for personal and property safety of the general public, police firearms-related legal system should be improved and consummated.This paper is divided into five parts, the first part is an introduction, pointed the purpose, the significance and the theoretical basis of the research. Part four introduces the regulations on legal use of firearms in Chinese Hong Kong and the United States,summing-up of experiences.Part five is learning from domestic and foreign advanced experience for reference, combined with China’s actual conditions, provide suitable related suggestions for the use of police firearms.
