Chinese professional athletes has achieved splendid success in international arena since thefounding of new China. The whole nation system，as the characteristics of competitive sportssystem in our country， has the outstanding advantages. However， due to factors such asone-sided pursuit of athletic performance， ignorance of the all-round development of athletes，many typical failure of cases related to famous athlete Zou Chunlan， Ai Dongmei appearfrequently， which highlights the necessity of scientific planning and effective management forthe career of professional athletes.Since last century were introduced to China， career planning and management has becomeone of the hot research of human resource management. The documents show that， the relevanttheoretical results more concentrated in the field of enterprise management， research related toprofessional athletes is comparatively rare.Career planning and management of athletes is thechanging process of cognitive about career values， career interest， career skills and personalqualities， skills， jobs and other factors in professional sports training. Therefore， it not onlyis the effective way to solve the problem of scientific occupation conversion for retiredprofessional athletes， but also the inevitable choice of realizing the sustainable development ofcompetitive sports that promotes the overall development of athletes.National free styling aerials team including19international master athletes was founded in1991and has the advantage of group that in a leading position in the world. The team is arepresentative professional sports teams for rational in athlete structure，steady talent supplyfrom the national youth team and the local team.To choose the national freestyle aerials team asthe research object， using theory of career and the methods of literature， interviews and otherresearch methods， survey and interview on the career planning and management of the nationalteam， and examine the status of it in the team.The research results show that: old concepts，lack of modern career planning and management awareness; unreasonable cultivationmechanism， single form of career planning and management of athletes; lack of managementsystem， passive development of career planning and management; limited retired resettlementmode， lack of social forces to participate in. Then it puts forward the following suggestions: Topopularize the career planning and management of athletes and guide planning; To improve thecultivation mechanism combines education and training;To accelerate the reform of themanagement system; To establish professional athletes retired management of resettlementmode.Not only to offer a strong support for the free styling aerials team， the paper also providesa useful reference to promote the sustainable development of China’s high level sports team.
