As part of high education, vocational college serves an important institute of personneleducation, scientific research and society service. The realization of its strategic target and thedevelopment of its core competency depend on the development and management of itsteachers, for teachers are the main part of the whole unit. The effective work satisfactionmanagement relates to teachers’ work enthusiasm and performance. Colleges in China havefinished the reform on income distribution based on position appointment and performanceappraisal. However, the expansion of high education, one-child policy and the new concept ofemployment contribute to the deduction of the number of students who take part in thecollege entrance examination. Its enrollment encounters great challenge, so it has to improveits core competency to gain consistent development. As a state-owned college, G vocationalcollege has finished the reform of personnel, but there is teachers’ complain and reassignment,being late for class, student accidents, and students’ complain on the class quality. All thesebring negative influence on its daily operation.Teachers’ job satisfaction is one of the key factors which lead to the current problems.This paper will take teachers job satisfaction as the object of study with individual interviewand questionnaire survey. By using SPSS for analysis, this paper finds out the teachers’satisfaction is in the middle level, which has a higher satisfaction on society support, jobreturn and lower satisfaction on policy/management and career development. Worksatisfaction varies a lot based on teachers’ position and status, and varies little on their gender,title and age. The reasons are listed as nontransparent and unfair policy making and execution,insufficient training and career development, high pressure on professional qualification,unfair work returns, unsatisfactory work environment and lacking of campus culture.To improve job satisfaction, well-establish the human resource management system forG College, this paper highlights four pieces of advice. Firstly, optimize the human resourcesystem and establish effective stimulation system, including work performance appraisal andpayment management system complement, optimize job-human resource partnership and andplan career path; secondly, improve teachers’ work environment; thirdly, activate teachers’work culture; fourthly, enlarge teachers’ right to make decision.
