The New Curriculum Reform demands basically that teaching should be geared to theneeds of all the students in order to encourage them develop wholly. The group cooperativelearning is beneficial to the students who might really become the main body of thelearning so that their comprehensive qualities will be enhanced.Based on the teaching experience and practice, the author has studied not only thegroup cooperative learning in primary mathematics but its teaching and learningeffectiveness as well. First, the author demonstrates the effectiveness of the groupcooperative learning in the teaching and learning process of primary mathematics byquestionnaire investigation, interview and empirical analysis. After analyzing the problemexisting in the primary mathematics teaching and learning, the author works out the mainproblems existing in the group cooperative learning in the primary mathematics,whichinclude improper opportunity, groups divided unscientifically, unclear rules, the lack ofthinking independently, unable to cooperate, unbalanced participation, insufficient timeand the lack of guidance, etc. Secondly, the author has found out the faults on the twofactors which influence the effectiveness of the group cooperative learning—teachers andstudents. On one hand, the teachers not only make unreasonable evaluation, but also lackthe abilities and experiences to guide the group cooperative learning. One the other hand,the students are short of ability to work together in a group and self-control, they can’tconcentrate their attention on the learning and they are susceptible to be interfered.Thirdly,aiming at the problems existing in the primary mathematics cooperative learninggroup and its influence factors, the author puts forward the strategies of improving thegroup cooperative learning’s effectiveness: Teachers should renew the idea, play a goodrole, choose the proper opportunity to cooperate for the students, organize effectively,regulate and control reasonably. Finally, the author analyze the group cooperative learningin the teaching case—‘To know parallel’, summarizing some experience reflecting on thecourse content, pointing out the countermeasures of group cooperative learning in practice. That would be helpful in improving the group cooperative teaching and learning in primarymathematics.After the research is done, the author in the paper will put forward the correspondingstrategy to implement the group cooperative learning effectively, summarizes the groupcooperative learning methods used in the primary mathematics connecting with thepractical teaching experience.
