The Research On Carrying Out Professor’s Academic Management System In Our Universities And Colleges

In recent years, with the constant expansion of the scale in universities andcolleges, the original internal administrative system can not adapt to the developmentof our universities and colleges. It is an urgent task for our universities and collegesto deepen the reformation of internal administrative system and to establish internaladministrative system suiting modern university system. Based on this circumstance,the related concepts and institutions about “professor’s academic management” arewidely valued. It can not only comply with the trend of democratize management ineducation and improve the scientificalness of the academic decision, but also caneffectively balance the academic and administrative authority. However, due to theimperfect laws system, out-of-balanced authority and the decrease of professor’sacademic responsibilities, there are still certain problems while our universities andcolleges carry out professor’s academic management system.This paper describes the history and development of professor’s academicmanagement system. The current situation of the carrying out the professor’sacademic management is analyst from three aspects. They are: the establishment ofthe organization, the function orientation, authority and responsibility. From above,the author explores the problems and shortcomings of the system. At the same time,this paper also analyses the successful experience of professor’s academicmanagement from other countries, such as America, Germany, Japan and Korea.Based on these, the author puts up suggestions and countermeasures from the aspects:country, colleges and universities and individuals.
