The21st century is an era of knowledge economy, increasingly fiercecompetition between people, for college students of this age, should be based on aneed to know the community in addition to constantly update professional knowledgeand skills, should also have a good self-management capabilities. As an importantpart of the student population, rural students because of their unique growingenvironment and educational backgrounds are often treated as a separate classresearch groups, and research on self-management is quite weak, so the study ofself-management of the rural students is very necessary. According to situationanalysis and the reasons analysis and suggested the idea to sort out, the first of severalrural areas of Changsha University undergraduate colleges and universities for thestudy, the method of the survey, from learning management, health management,money management, goal management, time management, interpersonal skillsmanagement, resources and opportunities to take advantage of the ability to manage,since the mentality and emotional management, participation in school managementnine dimensions to investigate and analyze the current situation of rural studentsself-management, and analysis of differentially based on different factors. The studyfound that compared with urban students, rural students involved in schoolmanagement and health management score low, and a large gap in the management ofinterpersonal skills also scored below college town. In the rest of the dimensions arerural students showed a stronger self-management capabilities. However, ruralstudents had some problems in the self-management of each dimension. Based ongender, whether the one-child, type of discipline, type of grade, type of school,parenting styles analyzing the Difference, rural students in different groups in theself-management reflects the significant difference. In contrast to the urban and ruralperspective to analyze the reasons of its problems, combined with the universality ofpsychological and behavioral characteristics of this group of rural students, ruralstudents made a number of self-management capabilities to enhance the operability ofrecommendations from individuals, schools, family and social perspective: ruralstudents should strengthen their own sound; schools should foster a student-centeredawareness, build scientific and standardized rules and positive campus culture; familyand community college students to create a suitable self-management capabilities of rural culture education environment.
