| In Hunan province, Provincial colleges is the main body of higher education. It is animportant development strategy for constructing and developing of school runningcharacteristics of colleges and universities in Hunan Province. How to survive and develop inthe serious competition of higher education, how to build and develop the schoolcharacteristics, and take road of dislocation development differential, it is a common problemfaced by the provincial university group. Also this paper attempts to explore the issue.At present, the higher education is enter the new stage. It is from the stage of quantityexpansion to connotation type development. But, Homogenization of university development,widespread pursuit of "higher level", the size of more than10,000students in the school,building a new campus, the comprehensive, multidisciplinary school development and so on,some of the traditional educational advantages gradually weakened; university graduates hardto become a social problem, the local university graduates is generally the hardest job groups.Due to promoting college very fast and loaning a lot of Capital from bank, it cause the problemof lack of funds for the college. Now it is only has12.6%of the provincial universities havequalify for get the master degree. Generally,the research ability and innovation ability is notstrong. From peaking year of2008, the number of graduates from senior high schooldecreasing and it is facing serious market competition for the student resource. All of thesefactors are serious restricted in the development of provincial colleges and universities. Tobuild and develop school running characteristics have been become the provincial universityconsciousness.This Paper through literature method, comparative method, expounds the characteristicsof running colleges and universities meaning. it from culture, discipline, training, managementfour aspects of the running characteristics of the constituent elements, pointed that the construction and development of school characteristics is the key foundation for the survival oflocal colleges development. By the method of case study, it described five cases of thecharacteristics of the school, said that the main characteristics of regional, application, ductilityis the school running characteristics of colleges and universities in Hunan province. Throughthe SWOT analysis and SWOT strategy analysis model, it said that the development ofprovincial colleges and universities must adhere to the construction and development of schoolcharacteristics, the implementation of differentiated dislocation development strategy.Provincial Colleges and universities, how to construct and development of schoolcharacteristics. This paper presents in five aspects, that is to serve Hunan, show the value; toinherit the historical precipitation, based on the practical conditions; to do special subject,consolidate the foundation of development; to innovate training mode, improve the "product"quality; to strengthen cooperation, expand the space for development.The article thinks, provincial colleges and universities must have it own characteristics ofschool running, but it can not leave from the human, material and financial resources and othersupporting in this area. It can not be Blind comparison and for fake"characteristics" and"features", otherwise it will loose the characteristics of the subject construction, scientificresearch service, students development.This Paper suggests, the provincial colleges and universities should make the applicationas the most significant features for school running, should make good training, a solidfoundation of practice and application ability as its goal. Base on the multi-level educationsystem, the education of Adminstration office should leading the local college to do theapplication occupation education as its target, and establish the sicentific and regular educationand training system, then to guide all the levels of college and university in their right position. |
