Now in China, the status of higher education is international, popular,diversified and informational. To local normal universities, the opportunities andchallenges are cofigurative. In competition with other colleges, keeping thecharacteristics of normal education is so important for local normal universities to owntheir core competitiveness, to ensure the sustainable development, and to play animportant role in the educational system. Therefore, the teaching quality of local normaluniversities is not only infective on the survival and development of schools, but also onthe identification and evaluation of school education. Teachers are the subject and coreresources of teaching, but now, individual working is not enough, we need to form ateaching team to discuss and solve teaching problems together. Therefore, building astructural and high-quality teaching team is the key to improve the teaching content andcourse system reform.Teaching team of local normal universities is composed of a certain number ofteachers, they are interdependent, cooperated, trusted and shared of responsibility, theyhave the common goal to improve their teaching quality, and they are grass-rootsacademic organizations.According to the theories of teaming construction, this study focuses on the statusof teaching team construction in local normal universities, their problems and thereasons, according to the problems and the analysis, we try to give some suggestionsand countermeasures, in order to enrich and develop the theory and practice research onthe teaching team construction of local normal universities. Here, the literature andquestionnaire methods are used.There are some problems existed in teaching team construction of local normal universities, such as “declaration is more important than construction”, lack ofcooperation and cohesion, lack of necessary resources of team construction and perfectguarantee system, the unreasonable structure of team members. The reasons of theseproblems are the cognitive bias of “scientific research is more important than teaching”,unreasonable distribution of team resources, obvious administration tendency of teamleaders, difficult to evaluate the team results, etc. based on these problems and analysis,we should cultivate good team culture and cohesion, perfect the system, and deal withthe relationship between teaching and research, in order to improve the teaching teamconstruction of local normal universities.
