The pirmary task for teachers in university is teaching and teaching evaluation is aneffective way of judging teaching achievements. No matter in developed countries ordeveloping countries, colleges and universities play a vital role in providing qualified talentsfor the society,developing individual knowledge, culture, personality and quality. Along withour country speed up the pace of the popularization of higher education, some developedcities has entered into the popularization stage of higher education, thus improving the qualityof higher education has gradually become the focus of the work of colleges and universities.With the influence of the external policy evaluation in colleges and universities along with thedevelopment needs, it’s necessary to change the traditional classroom teaching mode and thechangc not only d’epends on the process of teachers professional development and theimprovement of teaching level of the individual, also depends on whether the school is able toestablish a set of complete and diversiifed evaluation system and advancing with The Times.American higher education entered the popular phase in the1960s and under the environmentof university autonomy and academic freedom, the reform of higher education was promoted.Compared with the teachers teaching evaluation of higher education in the USA, t1cachersteaching evaluation system in colleges and universities of our country needs to be improved.Based on the California state university Northridge and Shanghai normal universityteachers’ teaching evaluation, the researcher makes objective analysis, seeks common groundwhile putting aside differences,combines with national conditions, conducive to the furtherdevelopment for our country’s colleges and universities tcachers theory and looks forward toputting forward constructive Suggestions. Shanghai Normal University should set up thecorrect view of teachers’ teaching evaluation, adjust the structure of the school internalevaluation management, establish scientific teach’ers teaching evaluation standard andimprove the system of teachers’ teaching evaluation.
