In2003the Ministry of Education promulgated the Ordinary HighSchool Curriculum Plan (Trial) and the curriculum standards (experimental)promoted the national various provinces to implement the new high schoolcurriculum reform, and the new curriculum reform needs the inevitablerequirement of national higher education entrance examination reform and thecorresponding. Basic Education Curriculum Reform Outline promulgated byThe Ministry of Education clearly pointed out:“the reform in collegeentrance examination system should be connected with the curriculum reformof basic education, strengthen the testing of students ability and quality,reform college entrance examination content and explore comprehensiveevaluation and selection test methods of providing more chance and two-wayselection”. At the same time, the introduction of “module” will make thecontents of each discipline into several modules, which will become thehighlights of the reform of curriculum structure in senior middle school. Afterthe reform, geography is divided into two parts—the compulsory and electivecourses. The compulsory part includes the required I, the required II and therequired III; elective part consists of seven modules—Universe and Earth,Marine Geography, Tourism Geography, Urban Planning, Natural Disasterand Prevention, Environmental Protection and Application of GeographicInformation System. First, Elective module settings rich the geographycurriculum system, and make the different provinces set up different moduleaccording to their own situation, and add some contents in the basic teachingof geography. The geography elective module shows the comprehensivecharacteristics of geography. Secondly, it improved the geographic literacy.Design of elective module contains all aspects of geography subjectapplication, pay attention to people’s production and life, and highlights thesubject characteristics and the application value of geography, which canopen up horizons of students and further improve the scientific literacy and humanistic quality. At the same time elective module relates to the geographytheory, application, technology level, and fields related to production life andgeography. The new curriculum reform request:“cultivate modern citizensgeographic literacy”,“learning to live useful geography”; and the times andthe basic design of Natural Disaster and Prevention, paying attention topopulation, resources, environment and development can help students correctunderstanding of natural disasters in China, establish disaster preventionawareness of disaster reduction and disaster prevention and mitigation ability.In order to promote disaster knowledge, improve disaster consciousness,and let more people understand the types and prevention measures of disastercauses, countries in the high school geography curriculum set NaturalDisaster and Prevention. With the steady progress of curriculum reform,gradually aroused widespread concern and attention.After Natural Disaster and Prevention became one part of geographycollege entrance examination since2007, its composition, characteristics andthe teaching implications are lack of systematic research. Therefore, theresearch takes this as a starting point to study.This paper analysis Natural Disaster and Prevention college entranceexamination of2007–2013from the goal, content, form and context, in orderto provide enlightenment for geography teachers in the teaching process line.According to the research, the2007–2013Natural Disaster and Preventioncollege entrance examination have the following characteristics:1. Electivemodule test is mainly in meteorological disasters, followed by geologicaldisasters.2. Tests of natural disasters emphasis the reason for disaster.3.Some tests of natural disasters are related to compulsory module closely.4.The main presentation of information is Sketch Map.5. Test situationassociated with social issues. Then the implications for teaching are:1.Master the causes of natural disasters, and understand the law of naturalcalamities.2. Guide the students to pay attention to current natural disasterhotspots and form the study habits to focus on natural disaster phenomenon.3. The teaching process should pay attention to cultivate students’ awareness ofdisaster prevention and mitigation.
