Secondary vocational education is responsible for the training high-quality laborersand skilled workers, which is the important method to implement the strategy of nationalrejuvenation through science and education, the approach to improve the overall qualityand skills of the population, the way of transforming the huge population pressure intohuman resource. At present, the secondary vocational education in China has entered a newand significant development period. More applied talents are needed in urgent according tothe economic and social development in the post financial crisis era.The “double-type” teaching staff in secondary vocational schools is related to thehealthy development of secondary vocational education. The requirement for the“double-type" teachers first appeared during the construction of the teachers team in theprocess of Chinese vocational education. It focused on the importance of the practicalteaching, the right positioning and organic combination of the theory and practice teaching,and the skills-and-abilities-training on the basis of the traditional ways of “light practiceheavy theory”,“light skills heavy knowledge” and emphasis on theory developmentconcerning the building and evaluation of teaching staff. Currently, some serious problemsstill exist in terms of the quantity and quality of secondary vocational "double-type"teaching staff in China.Chongqing R Vocational School is the only one that dedicated to female academicdiplomas education and vocational training as the first batch of national key vocationalschools in Chongqing, known as “the Cradle of Modern Females”. The author has carriedout a survey in R School based on the research current status of Chongqing “double type”teaching staff and analyzed the main problems and causes about “double type” teachingstaff according to the survey. The strategies and studies on them under the direction of therelative theories given in this paper are in hope of providing the useful reference andinspiration to construction of “double type” teaching staff in other vocational schools inChongqing.
