With the third wave of education reforms sweeping the globe, the physical educationteachers in institutions of higher learning are facing the transition of the specification ofteachers. For conforming to the “student-centered” concept, the physical education teachers incolleges are required to adopt teaching methods and meet the practical challenges. It not only requires physical education teachers to enhance their working abilities, but, atthe same time, the college PE teachers have to face the challenge of teaching college studentsfor the practice of sports diversification requirements, as well as the challenges of the collegestudents’ needs of a variety of sports. Self-regulated learning has been the teaching methodthat has been extensively studied and used to address the learning needs of all types ofstudents at all levels since the third world education reform.Meanwhile, calisthenics is popular among the teenagers due to its own vitality, uniquepersonality, temperament, as well as its unique rhythm and features. In this study, the authortakes the general course of college sports as a platform and the application of"Self-regulation" Teaching Mode in College Aerobics Teaching as subject.By studying the120college students (60freshmen girls;60sophomore girls), thesubjects are divided into groups based the results of the pretest. By comparing statistics of thepretest and post-test after19weeks in terms of physical quality, basic techniques of Aerobics, basic technical combination and Aerobics teaching routine, the results are as follows:1. Both the experimental classes and the control classes after the experimentoutperformed themselves in the pre-experiment test on one minute back Alice, one minutesit-ups, step test, sit and reach, standing long jump, etc. However, there is no significantdifference between the experimental classes and control classes.2. After19weeks experiment, the experimental classes outperform the control classes onbasic techniques of aerobics, Aerobics basic routines and the entire exercise aerobics learning.3. The questionnaire on the subjects shows: in the process of aerobics teaching thestudents can actively determine teaching objectives, self-adjust learning plan, develop yourown learning strategies, and acquire high self-efficacy, which demonstrates the"self-regulation" teaching model has a great role in promoting the aerobics study for students.4. The study shows that the sophomore girls in experimental class outperformed thefreshman girls on self-efficacy, choice of learning strategies, learning objectives and learningcognitive aspects. However, through this experimental study, the author also finds that however, thereexists singular teaching evaluation on "self-regulation" teaching mode applied in the teaching of physical education in universities because individual difference of the students affect theeffect of the experiment, and the lack of prompt feedback for students learning. This is alsothe problem to be solved in the future "self-regulation" research.
