Study On The Internal Mechanism Of Floating Population’s Effect On Urban Land Scale And The Corresponding Policy

Since China’s reform and opening up, nationwide large-scale population migration had come along with industrialization and urbanization of China, especially transference of surplus rural labor from rural areas to cities. Floating population had changed urban land use by contributing more and more on urban population growth and promoting the development of society and economy, and the industrialization and urbanization of China has caused urban land scale expanding gradually. Population is one of the decisive factors of urban land scale and the major driver of urban land growth, the growth of floating population has changed urban land use in many ways. Because of the accumulation of social and economic resources since China’s reform and opening up, transference of rural population from rural areas to cities is the trend of China’s development in a long time. In the rapid urbanization background, the conflicts between human and land has trend of deepen, which will threaten China’s urbanization. Research on the relation between floating population and urban land scale will reveal the internal mechanism of floating population’s influence on urban land scale, provide policy advice and promote China’s urbanization.Taken Zhejiang province as an example, this paper has analyzed the internal mechanism of floating population’s effect on urban land scale based on the summary of domestic and overseas study. The main conclusions are:(1) The population of Zhejiang province had increased rapidly from2000to2010. The floating population have mainly distributed in the northeast, middle and southeast of Zhejiang province. The urban land of Zhejiang province had increased rapidly, especially that of northeast. The distribution of floating population and urban land has similarity.(2) Floating population will promote urban population growth,accelerate the social and economic development of city and exert influence on urban land scale. Empirical analysis had showed that the floating population has direct and positive influence on the development of society and economy, the development of society and economy have direct and positive influence on urban land scale, and the secondary industry have direct and positive influence on floating population. The floating population had affected urban land scale by promote the development of society and economy, and the secondary industry had attracted the floating population. Finally, based on the results of the study, the suggestions of corresponding policy had been put forward.
