Research On The Cultivation Of Research Ability Of Academic Graduate Students

Today’s society is a knowledge-based era which is based on the information, talent persons and scientific management. With the steady development of China’s economy, the country needs more talent persons, especially high-level talents year after year, and the most outstanding behavior is that the country expands the graduate enrollment largely. But at the same time, with the increase of the enrollment number, the related training problems have appeared and these problems have influenced the graduates on their knowledge and literacy.On March18th2014, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education issued "On Opinions about the Building of the Strengthening of Degree and Graduate Education Quality Assurance and Supervision System", which pointed out facing the new situation of high-level talent persons training, we should regard the improving of the quality of graduate education reform and development as the core of the most urgent task. As for this, this thesis puts the improving the quality of graduate as background and study the graduates of Guangxi University.Research capability is consisted of five aspects, including the ability of collecting and organizing the literature, being familiar with the scientific method, innovative thinking, the ability of observation and problem-solving skills, and academic moral qualities. Those five aspects are important manifestation of postgraduate research capability and they are also inherent requirements of graduate education. What’s more, it is also a need to build the innovative country. Through investigation and interviews, the author discovered academic study of graduates of Guangxi University is not strong, and the school’s training methods need to be improved, such as the irrational school system, unscientific curriculum, boring and single teaching methods,unreasonable mentoring and so on. Compared with Taiwan and foreign countries, like United States and Japan’s graduate students training, we can learn from them. And they established a philosophy of education---people, which focused on students’ research potentiation, wide coverage and practical courses, and tutors giving full play to co-culture of quality students. In our country, cultivating graduate capability should be based on the training methods reform, reform education training system, reform of the thinking of education, to create a good academic environment and enhance self-management.
