As the "cradle" of preschool education reform in China,Shanghai, is the lfag,model, and also a pioneer. Private preschool education is an important part ofpreschool education in Shanghai. In the "service" society, Children developmentplays an irreplaceable role, and the key of Children development is the resourceof excellent preschool teachers. Based on such a background, the author try topresent a clear situation of professional development of the private kindergartenteachers in Shanghai. To achieve the purpose,the author took the questionnairemethod and organized a series of in-depth interview with group of privatekindergarten teachers of Shanghai urban and rural area (Minhang and Songjiangand Jiading District) to collect the first-hand information.According to the survey, First of all,the author makes relevant analysis from3aspects: the government, the garden,the teachers.Secondly,The lack ofteachers’ professional rights and interests protection, insufficient capitalinvestment, and the simplification of training ways are the the policyenvironments which influences on teacher’s professional development;Kindergarten managers focus on interests instead of long term development,thegarden culture is short of diversity, the teachers troop are instable, all of aboveproblem are the problems located in the gardens which influence teachers’professional development; The lack of teachers’ identity to the non-governmentaleducation, and the loss of individual professional development consciousness arethe personal factors which influence teachers’ professional development. The lastthe author propose relevant solutions from the aspects of the government, the garden as well as the teachers level. The government should put the policy onearth, increase financial input, and innovate the management mechanism, toensure that the private kindergarten teachers’ professional development has afavorable external environment; The kindergartens should pay more attention tothe professional of the kindergarten managers, the training and scientific researchand so on, thus provide a good platf’orm for teachers professional development;The promotion of teacher’s professional development is inseparable from theteachers’ personal career planning, skilled professional ability,and regularteaching reflection.
