Theory of learned helplessness is reported by American psychologist Seligman. Learned helplessness means some kinds of special mentation after organism’s negative experiences, it contains emotional, cognitive and behavioral performance of mind. Seligman also pointed out that the learned helplessness of human can be eliminated after a certain amount of effort.We study learned helplessness in senior physics learning. This thesis includes eight parts:1)introduction;2)connotation and psychological characteristics of learned helplessness in physics learning;3) investigation and study of current situation;4)causes of learned helplessness in senior physics learning;5)recommendation of intervention methods;6)individual intervention research;7) group intervention study;8) conclusion and expectation.In this study, literature review, content analysis are used. Based on those interviews, the author draw up a questionnaire to investigate the situation of learned helplessness in senior high physics learning. The findings are as follows:1.Learned helplessness in senior high physics learning is in medium level on the whole, with about10%of high school students having intense feeling of learned helplessness in physics learning.2.There are extremely significant differences at learned helplessness among the students with different levels of physical achievements. Inferior students feel much higher learned helplessness.3.There is a significant difference in learned helplessness between grade one and grade two.4.Overall, there is a significant difference between genders, but the differences are not significant for students who are better than average.Based on the questionnaire survey result, materials collected in observation and interviews, this study analyzes the causes and intervening measures of learned helplessness in senior physics learning and researches the individual intervention and group intervention, combining with many intervention methods and putting forward a suggested model of intervention. The main research conclusions are as follows:1.High school students’learned helplessness in physics learning can be alleviated with the following effective measurements:(1)Enrich the ways to present knowledge of physics, inspire students’ learning interest in physics and cultivate learning motivation.(2)Arrange simple tasks, help students experience the success and achievement in physics learning, give positive attention and evaluation, and restore their confidence in learning.(3)Teach physics learning techniques, train the ability of physical thinking, build the learning objectives.(4)Frustration education, attribution training, perfect their physical cognition structures.2.Helping students experience the success and achievement in physics learning and giving positive attention and evaluation can restore their confidence in physics learning and improve students’ sense of self-efficacy.3.Forming a stable physical learning motivation(especially internal motivation) and setting proper goals are the key to controlling and intervening learned helplessness in senior physics learning.
