Local culture bears educational functions of Chinese naturally. Through literatureresearch method, case anylysis method and investigation analysis method, firstly, myresearch outlines Taicang local literature from which, undoubtfully, the materials adoptedin Chinese teaching class derive. The histories, legends, ancient towns and famous personsare all the vital pointcuts for us to develop in Chinese education. Basically, my researchanalyses the importance of local culture in such education and points out the cultureinfiltrates Chinese education in various aspects. The teachers should explore local cultureactively to change their roles in education, relying on the local culture to reconstruct thenew Chinese class teaching patterns. Secondly, my research introducing some strategiescompromising Chinese class teaching and local culture, including compromising unittheme teaching and local culture, expanding reading teaching based on local culture andenriching writing teaching through local culture. Thirdly, my research narrates thefunctions that local culture plays and methods in practical education outside the classrooms.It leads students to design the guide presentation for the places of interest in theirhometown, to write slogans for the local specialities and to write local course materials,which realize the full infiltration of the education of Chinese and local culture.
