The Development Of Performance Appraisal Scale On The Vocational College Lecturers’ Working Behavior

The vocational college has become an important place for training person withpractical ability, so more and more professor pay attention to the performance appraisalas it is a crucial tool for improving the teaching effect. However, most vocationalcolleges only emphasize the working results when doing the performance appraisal onlecturers, and there are few colleges pay attention to the working behavior. Therefore, theauthor proposes to add the performance appraisal on lecturers’ working behavior to theperformance appraisal system, that is the significance of this paper. This paper includestwo parts, they are the theoretical research and the empirical research.In the theoretical research, by using the documentary method, job analysis method,interview and case study, this paper puts forward the performance appraisal on vocationalcollege lecturers’ working behavior need to improve from two aspects: the diversificationof performance appraisal and the clarity of performance feedback information. Then thispaper establishes a group of performance appraisal metrics and develops33workingbehaviors, after testing the selected working behaviors by using internal consistencymethod, this paper finally select16working behaviors and develops the BehavioralObservation Scale on Vocational College Lecturers. In the empirical research, this paperstudies the application of the Behavioral Observation Scale in the W vocational college,and uses the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient and factor analysis method to verify thereliability and validity of the scale. The result is that the scale is reliable and valid.Meanwhile, this paper also does descriptive statistic analysis on the collected appraisaldata, and makes comparison for the lecturers’ performance going year round. The resultshows that the scale we designed can provide clear performance feedback information.
