It has been for a long time to throw out a suggestion of open the selective courses in high school, butfew of them had been put into practice and showed less effectiveness. not only new education developmentgoals and direction has been put forward,but offered a specific operational scheme in the curriculumdesign of the new round curriculum reform. According to the "ordinary high school ideological andPolitical Curriculum Standard (Experiment)" provisioned by Ministry of Education in2004, the ideologicaland political elective courses in high school has became one of modules that students learning, at the sametime,the content of elective courses has been checking formed optional question and included in total score,which is happened frequently of the liberal arts comprehensive papers in college entrance examinationaround many provinces in recent years.as the main link reflection to curriculum selective, High school ideological and political selectivecourses has been divided into two modules named elective I and optional II, selective I with6courses,12credits is elective courses according to the national curriculum standard, and the local school should makeschedules and select modules for students choice according to the classification and hierarchical incurriculum standard. As a highlight of the new curriculum, selective courses has achieved remarkableresults from the pilot and carried out in different provinces. On the one hand, we have attracted people’sattention by improving the proportion of elective courses in total scores, on the other hand, the students’comprehensive quality was greatly improved through the courses and add some advantages in the student’sexamination and employment.As the expansion of the required courses, the existence of the value in High school ideological andpolitical selective courses had been proved in practice. But in the actual,the ideological and politicalselective course facing a embarrassing situation exposed by many current problems, the teaching of electivecourses has been restricted by numerous factors. the parts incompatible existing from the concept to thesystem of college entrance examination, from the level of teachers to the system of evaluation. Theschemes in good design can’t goes smoothly, the goals, set by high school ideological and politicalselective courses have not been achieved,even further away. how could this situation happened,is worthy for us to make an exploration,reflection and learn lessons from such experience, which is one of the mostimportant indicators associating with the new curriculum reform. The article’s has made a furtherexploration and gave some suggestions based on the other research results, providing certain theoryreferences for the high school ideological and political selective courses.The article, besides foreword, is divided into four parts.In the first part, we have make a definition on the high school ideological and political selectivecourses, explained the status and values of the high school ideological and political selective courses inbasic education, based on the analysis of its contents and the characters, then, made an introduction on itsselection and situation to understanding the similarities and differences between elective courses andrequired courses.In the second part, we have an introduction on its status quo through the investigation and Analysis.Not only affirmed the achievements, but aware of its values in helping students realize the further andlarger development, at the same time, we need to take the problems found in investigation seriously andfind the objective and subjective reasons, which is the cause of the embarrassing situation.In the third part, we have propose some suggestions and solutions based on the questions from thesecond part, form my own opinions from the concept to the system reform, hoping to rationalize the chaosin the process of high school ideological and political selective courses teaching.The fourth part is the summary of this articles, we find out the reasons, learn some lessons, putforward suggestions based on the analysis from the high school ideology and politics teaching problems. Inone case, high school ideological and political selective course is highlights and difficulties in the newcurriculum reform, which is an important measure to adapting the trend of the development times and thedevelopment of students oriented; on the other hand, we can’t lose the confidence when we confront thesetback, because it will take a long time to review and improve the teaching on high school ideological andpolitical selective courses.
