In recent years, with the rapid rise in the number of university graduates, theemployment pressure is very prominent. To explore how to improve the professionalcompetence of students becomes an issue which concerned by the entire society. Currently,on the term of quality of the students themselves, the studies have mostly advocated byimproving the education system, optimizing the course structure, increasing students’social practice in school, thereby improving the professional competence of universitystudents. But on the status of the continent, the social work model applied to improveprofessional competence of college students in practice is rare.In order to combine the advantages of social work model with rich resources of theenterprise, this study starts with group work methods in the enterprise to implement socialwork for college students to improve fundamental professional competence and to explorethe efficacy and effectiveness of social work. This study lasts for about3months.Specific practices: with systematic sampling method, the social worker divided20college interns in a well-known enterprise in Wuhan into experimental and control groupsfor comparative study. Before group work, according to the connotations of fundamentalprofessional competence of university student, the social worker referred to previousstudies and the basic quality requirements of the enterprise for college students to makeout evaluation form which used in former measurement work. During the study period, thesocial worker did with games, the quality development activities, lectures, sharings and soon to do intervention in the experimental group in enterprise. After the intervention, thesocial worker did the measurement work in the two groups with the same evaluation formwhich used in pretest, then collected and collated the results in pre and pro measurementof evaluation form, and did comparative analysis of each indicator, so as to exploreinfluence and degree of group work on enhancing the fundamental professionalcompetence of college students.Comparative analysis of the results shows:(1) Featured enterprise group work whichaimed to improving college students’ fundamental professional competence has a positiveinfluence, and the influence of the effect is very significant.(2) Doing mere practice inthe enterprise also has influence on improving college students’ fundamental professional competence, but the influence is not as significant as featured enterprise group work.(3)Among the indicators of fundmamental professional competence in experimental group,the most obvious indicator that improves is social adaptability, and the communication andcollaboration capabilities show the similar degree, but the improvement of learning andinnovation skills are not ideal.(4)In the control group, the degree of improvement amongthe indicators shows the same sequence of experimental group. From the results of theintervention of featured enterprise group work, this study finds out that featuredenterprise group work which carried out in the enterprise has the following advantages:adequate group dynamics, rich enterprise resources and significant affect of enterpriseauthority etc. And the main disadvantage is the research object coverage is limited, so thatit is difficult to control the other factors that influence the effect of featured enterprisegroup work.
