Current Situation Of Extracurricular Reading Of Senior High School Chinese And Its Strategies

As curriculum reform develops in depth, the status of extracurricular reading of senior high school Chinese has attracted much attention. The author once was a Chinese teacher in a senior high school in Tuanfeng county for many years, she found that ever since the practice of new curricular standard, extracurricular reading have had some success, but the status is far to ideal situation. There are three main problems: first, the relation between in-class reading and extracurricular reading is not clear; second, extracurricular reading lacks guidance; third, extracurricular reading lacks evaluation criterion.Extracurricular reading is an extension and expansion of classroom teaching. It can improve students’ Chinese literacy, enrich students’ spiritual life, perfect students’ personality, promote students’ realm of life, and thus lay a solid foundation for students’ lifelong study and individual character development. Therefore, it is essential to take effective measures to solve the problems existing in current extracurricular reading to make extracurricular reading play a real role in students’ study life.Through the theoretical study of extracurricular reading, together with filed investigation and practical teaching experiences in some senior high schools in Huanggang, this paper first points out the problems existing in current extracurricular reading status, then puts forward some effective strategies to improve the quality of extracurricular reading so that it can really help to students’ all-around development. This paper will discuss the above issues from the following sections.The Introduction part presents the background, the current situation of extracurricular reading, the objectives and significance of this thesis, the research content and methods of this thesis.The first part talks about the connotation, the importance and the misunderstandinge of extracurricular reading of senior high school Chinese.The second part makes an analysis of both the achievements and the deficiency of current extracurricular reading, and explores the reasons of the existing problems.The third part puts forward some practical strategies based on the analysis of existing problems in extracurricular reading.The fourth part makes a conclusion.
