As an important cognitive activity for the teenagers, reading not only conveys information and experience, also helps the young to know and think about the whole world thus to inspire themselves. However virtually speaking, the reading condition of the regular senior high schools is not very pleasant. Because of the high pressure on academic learning and the competition among schools, many senior schools choose to limit learners within the boring classroom environment and thus cater for the regular teaching and learning mode. To get higher academic achievement, the students have fewer chances to touch other meaningful reading materials. It thus ignores the true essence of language learning and keeps away from the real pedagogy of any language literacy. To help students do more extracurricular reading and provide them helpful guidance, questionnaires based on the current reading situation of senior high school students are designed. Hopefully it will help instruct the meaningful reading of the young and provide education authorities some policy guide. There are five compositions in the article.Part one: Instruction.
