Training program is the implementation of school program to carry on the national education policy and basic requirements of realizing the target of training the talents, the main basis of school organization and management of teaching process, the basic document for school to monitor and evaluate the teaching quality. Also it is a information carrier to reflect the school teaching philosophy, running orientation, characteristics, and cultural heritage. Therefore, it is significant for colleges and universities whether the training plan is reasonable or not.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the physical education for undergraduates in China has developed rapidly. In the current stage of China, there are 138 professional spots of professional physical education among 241 professional spots in 75 institutions and departments of physical education from 16 sports colleges and universities. It accounts for 57% of the total number of the professional spots. Since 2007, our country has selected, in seven batches, more than 3400 national characteristic specialties having been carried among 27 universities from the whole country and physical education specialties. Though the study of the projects of cultivating physical education for undergraduates of these 27 colleges and universities, according to the standards of "China’s physical education curriculum program of normal colleges" issued by the Ministry of Education, this paper compares and summaries the common ground of different projects to explore "characteristics" among various plans so as to provide other nationwide universities the basis to make cultivating projects for physical education profession as well as to make contributions to improve the quality of training students with physical education major."The modern teacher education theory starting from the lifelong education theory divides teacher education into three phases:pre-vocational education, vocational education and on-the-job training. "The training of undergraduates majoring in physical education is an important part of physical education teachers’pre-vocational education. Also it is the golden age for students to adapt the modernization of education required by the master of the knowledge structure, to learn skills of education, and to adapt themselves to the work of education and teaching in the future.The project of cultivating physical education for undergraduates is the general blueprint and implement plans for colleges and universities to realize their personnel training goal, basic specifications and course setting as well as teaching management. Meanwhile, it is the main basis for school to organize and manage the process of training the talents. So it is meaningful to the pre-vocational education. Requirements from social progress of talents continuously improve. So as well the requirements of the comprehensive qualities and abilities of the talents. It has become an important topic for scholars and the administrators of colleges and universities to study continuously that how to construct a reasonable personnel training program so that it could follow the pace of the development of world economy, education, and technology. By objective, systematic, in-depth comparison and analysis for the program of professional physical education training on undergraduates, this research sums up existing common merits and problems among programs of professional physical education training on undergraduates of various colleges and universities. There are some practical value to make a reasonable proposal to improve or optimize current program of professional physical education training on undergraduates, to provide reference for the construction of national characteristic specialties, to promote the quality of undergraduate teaching of Physical Education.
