This paper sets the present operation and management situation of the Beijing Laoshan Fencing Club as the research object, analyses and studies the current condition of the club through the methods of questionnaire and interviewing, and raises suggestions on the problems the club faces in its development.Through the research on the organization structure, management mode, financing channels and the activities of the club, this paper summarizes the operation characteristics of the club:the club is nationalized and affiliated to the General Administration of Sport; the financing system is also affiliated to the administration; the age structure of the club members is not diversified, of which 90 percent are pupils; the development of the membership system is not consistent.Based on the analysis mentioned above, the paper also focuses on the club member satisfaction, the use of the Olympic venue and the influence of state-owned investment management on the club:the overall quality of the coaches and the management level of the club are the essence of the club’s competitiveness, which directly affects the members’ satisfaction level; the operation model of the club, as a model of efficiently utilizing the Olympic venue, is set as an example for the other sporting facilities in China; the state-owned investment model asserts positive and negative influences on the club.Based on the analysis mentioned above, the paper gives its suggestions:strengthening marketing publicity through mobile media and internet media, and increasing channels to recruit club members; adapting the club itself into the system restructuring and exploring the independent operation management model; focused on consumer demand analysis, enhance the club service quality, and constantly improve the club member satisfaction; enhance human resources management, improving the salary management and training system, refine assessment standard.
