With the development of modern society, occupational stability has become a hot spot of industries. Focusing on the occupational stability of young white-collar workers, teachers, or middle managers who work in kinds of enterprises, we have ignored the occupational stability of one group, who works in the department store as junior staffs. Frankly speaking,the junior staffs are those who work in the departments of producing benefit directly, they are at the bottom of the staffs, belong to be under the management,and they don’t have any employee. In department store,so-called junior staffs include sellers, cashiers, service commissioners, securities and cleaners.As the bottom of the staffs.their work’s attitude directly affect their work efficiency and the quality of services.it also affects the customers’opinion to the department store. However, in the increasingly competitive today, no matter what kinds of department store junior staffs work in, their turnover rate is very high. This paper selected Xin Huadu department store as sample, by ways of questionnaire and case study, to explore the overall situation of the junior staffs’occupational stability who works in the department store. According to the factors of occupational stability of junior staffs,the paper put forward four hypotheses:First, major factors which influence the occupational stability of junior staffs who work in department stores are: gender, level of age, level of income, level of education, the categories of work, working years, job satisfaction, occupational status, the satisfaction of vocational training, the satisfaction of promotion possibility.the time of the work, the level of job competence, marital status; Second,age has remarkable effect on the occupational stability of junior staffs who works in the departments stores; Third, Work time have significant effects on the occupational stability of junior staffs who works in the departments stores;Four, age and work time two factors have a significant impact on the occupational stability of junior staffs who works in the departments stores. By using SPSS software do crosstable analysis and regression analysis, we clearly know that:in the 117 valid cases, only four factors(gender, age, working years and the satisfaction level of work environment) have a significant impact on the occupational stability, According to these factors and professional career development theory, this study puts forward some recommendations:From the dimension of the staff,we should focus on "working time",namely for the junior staffs who is in the battle period of society, we can guide the direction of professional development; for the junior staffs who is in the run-time of occupational development, we can help them set up the occupational commitment;for the junior staffs who is in the career start period, we can help them to promote the development of their self-efficacy;for the junior staffs who is in the stable career period,we can provide them a stage to show the ability; taking care of working time of all junior staffs,we should help them cultivate good attitude.From the dimension of the enterprises.we should focus on "working environment satisfaction ".namely the key to promote working environment satisfaction is using "soft" and "hard" methods;emphasizing the development of career under the guarantee of payment.
