Research purpose:In recent years, more and more emotional problems of children are emerged in front of parents and teachers, having been attached importance to parents, Psychologists and educators. School-age children’s Emotion regulation ability is immature. If not given intervention early, there are series of adverse consequences, such as low achievement, psychological disorders and even criminal, influencing their study, work, health and life. However, there are some problems that research on working methods in emotional problems of children is one-sided. Currently, most research in this area is focused on the earlier interventions and the later interventions research on children of higher grades in primary school is less than normal, having not consistent conclusion in the effect of the intervention.The research starts with the group work method, researching the level of conditions that the group work helps to improve the emotional problems of children and provides practical reference to researching the solution to emotional problems of children, providing practical basis for formulating the policy of school-age children in the relevant agencies to effectively promoting the healthy development of school-age children.Research method:The article selects higher grades students as research objects in one primary school in Chongqing, recruiting students by introducing themselves and being recommended by their parents or teachers. They are selected according to test results by Emotional Intelligence Scale, Children’s Depression Inventory and Quality of Life Scale for Children and Adolescents. The final sixty students who are selected are divided into the experimental group and the control group, doing the group activities for students in the experimental group for a period of eight weeks, without any treatment to the students in the control group. We give posttest using the same scale after the intervention and statistics score. Then we do paired test using the pretest and posttest score to nineteen statistical software and analysis the effect of the intervention.Research conclusions:After the group work interventions, firstly, comparison between the pretest and posttest, the children of experimental group whose adjustment capability is significantly improved, such as emotional perception, emotional self-management, others’emotional management, emotional utilization and so on. Their depressive level is decreased significantly and their level of quality of life is significantly improved. Secondly, comparison in posttest effect between the experimental group and control group, the children of experimental group whose adjustment capability is significantly improved,such as emotional perception, emotional self-management, others’ emotional management, emotional utilization and so on. Their depressive level is decreased significantly and their level of quality of life is significantly improved. Thirdly, the cognitive on emotional problems of School-age children is improved and their new skills are increased on dealing with emotional problems. Emotional status of children is improved and emotional management capability is enhanced. In conclusion, the group work method can positively affect the emotion regulation ability of school-age children.
