Nowadays, the rapid development of China puts the world’s eyes upon us. They pay close attention to our politics, economy and culture. Language is a bridge to connect various countries in the world, so more and more people would like to learn Chinese. Since 2004, Hanban began to dispatch Chinese teaching volunteers to more than forty foreign countries in order to teach Chinese and spread Chinese culture. Thailand is near China, and there are frequent trade contacts between these two countries. Thailand is one of the countries which has most Chinese immigrants, and Chinese learning is also supported by its royal household. For this reason, Chinese has become a compulsory subject which is as important as English. Many scholars in China are always keeping a watchful eye on Chinese synonyms, but the discussion about synonym teaching in Thailand is rare. With learning more and more vocabulary, Thai students will face the problem of synonyms, so it is a significant stage to teach synonyms for senior high school students. This paper bases on Chinese teaching in Thailand, and makes Minprasatwittaya school as the sample of the illustration. According to the Chinese synonym showed in the teaching material about “experience in Chinese”, a questionnaire about synonym was designed. This paper aims at finding the reason of biased error of Thai students. After analyzing the biased error about using synonym, this study will give some teaching advice accordingly.Chapter one of introduction mainly tells the reason of studying this selected topic, and clarifies the original intention of the writer.Chapter two analyses the questionnaire according to the teaching practice. Firstly, this paper describes the biased error and each synonym. Secondly, it analyses the reason of biased error in detail.The third chapter shows the feasibility of teaching advice for Chinese synonym.The epilogue summarizes the value and deficiency of this paper.
