Ideological and political education of college students is a kind of ideologi cal education that touches the heart of the students. Its purpose not only is lie in making the student control book knowledge, but also lie in development th e right global view, philosophy of life and value of university and initiative to cultivate good moral behaviors. This education must be based on students’ pos itive and healthy mental quality, and good psychological quality helps students take the initiative to accept the ideological and political education. Using the positive emotions theory in this educ ation can make the students to learn happily and use the knowledge in daily li fe. This emerging discipli ne can even say set off a whole scientific community, including psychology, a huge wave.Because of the open disciplinary characteristics of ideological and political education of college students, we can achieve the goal of ideological and poli tical education better. Using the theory of positive emotions has great significance for us to build a good trinity of family, school, and community education environment. Positive emotions theory in practice of ideological and political education also plays a vital role, it effectively promoted the idea of updating the ideological and political education of college students, promote the expansion of its educational function, and promote the improvement of its educational methods and educational content enrichment and so on.
