Research On Operational Status Of Beijing Sport University National Training Center

As a high-level national training base, BSU national training center is equipped with solid hardware facilities, and has formed a multi-function service system integrated with scientific research, education, medical care and accommodation. However, concerning the higher requirement of competitive sports, the national training base of BSU national training center complex still remains in the initial stage, specifically, in research training and information construction, and it can not meet sport teams’needs in preparation for competition and daily training. In order to make its multi-function in full play and to make it more scientific, normalized, legalized and industrialized, the present study investigated the operation of national training base of BSU national training center by reviewing literature, conducting interviews and making field study. This study saw the whole training base a system, and investigated all aspects of the inner system under the theoretical framework. From the aspect of management, this study aims to summarize the successful experience of the national training base of BSU national training center, and try to put forward some suggestions for its operation and management so as to provide reference to other similar training bases in China. Results from this study are concluded as follows:1. Fully funded by the Chinese government, BSU national training center has a dual identity, and advanced stadium and research teams. It is also integrated with training and research together. However, the dual identity of this national training base would lead to conflicts on the use of space and resource, which is unbeneficial to the closed training of sport teams stationed in the base.2. The national training base of BSU national training center has the following problems:Firstly, the age structure of the working staff tends to be young. Professional workers have low-level education. There is lack of experts in stadium management and training, small and unbalanced fund invested in staff training. Secondly, the base is still in the initial age in terms of scientific research, medical care and competitive information system. There is no unified communicative platform, which leads to the conflict between the information need of high-level athletes and research service, and it also hinders the mutual study and communication among bases. Thirdly, the base appears non-standard phenomena in arranging stationed training in the base. The present study put forward suggestions as follows:1. To increase the intensity of cultivating professional staff, invest more money in attracting talents, improve the unreasonable staff s education structure, and establish information system.2. Pay attention to external exchange; learn the advantages of advanced bases in their scientific research, medical service and the idea of training management.3. Pay attention to the development and utilization of tangible and intangible assets of the national training base of BSU national training center; form brand effect; improve the supplying ability of public sport products; strengthen self-sufficient ability and bring more economic and social benefits.
