For a long time, there exists a common problem in the middle and primary schools in China, that is, the teaching is oriented to examination and lacks of scientific effectiveness. In the new era, China began to carry out the new curriculum reform, implement quality-oriented education, and require teachers to set up the right and effective teaching concepts and master the scientific teaching strategies and methods. However, few changes occur in the form of examination, which is still the pass card for the students’ further education, causing the high score still being highly concerned by all walks of life. Based on the study of the compulsory geography education, the geography teaching in senior high school is strongly consecutive in both the mastering of the knowledge and the training of the capacity of the students. Baoding is the first pilot region to take Geography as one of the senior high school entrance examination subjects in Hebei Province. Geography review teaching has been studied currently in Baoding in respect of the little proportion of geography score in the senior high school entrance examination and the implementation of the new curriculum concepts during reviewing Geography in Grade Three with a view to promoting the all-round development of the students. With the Geography teaching in Tang County, Baoding being taken as study sample, the problems arising during investigating the status of the schools, teachers and students in Tang County, Baoding are analyzed through experience summary method, interview method and comparative analysis method. It is found through the investigation and study that although China has began to carry out the new curriculum education and implement quality-oriented education at an early stage, the teachers are constrained in their comprehension of the new curriculum reform, its concepts as well as effective teaching. Under the pressure of the senior high school entrance examination, the Geography review teaching design is dominated by teaching and the exercise class has substituted for the review lesson, depriving the students of initiatives and enthusiasm and decreasing the review effectiveness. Aiming at the problems arising during the Geography review lessons, the corresponding strategies are proposed for teachers’ learning and reference. The focus should be transferred from teaching paid great attention by teachers to studying by students during the Geography review teaching, in which teachers are required not only to improve the teaching strategies and review effectiveness, but also to transfer students’ learning attitudes and the ways in which students learn. During the teaching course, teachers should attach great importance to the training of the students’ Geography subject quality and lifelong development, making the Geography revision not only improve the score of the senior high school entrance examination, but also compatible with the altitude of the new curriculum concept.
