Because of the expansion of university scale since 1999, the number of graduates in China has increased year by year, reaching 727 million in 2014, which leads to high inventory and high expansion of graduates, and which brings more pressure and difficulty to the college students. At the same time, there is a special group -- the high-level athletes, whose employment situation is also not optimistic. According to the ministry of education graduate employment survey, high-level athletes employment rate can reach more than 95% in 2005, but the situation is becoming more serious from 2005:at present, there are about 6.3 million high-level athletes, and there are 1.2-3.4 millions high-level athletes in need of employment, so it’s difficult for 40% high-level athletes to be employed timely every year. The unemployment or improper employment of high-level athletes who is regarded as the high quality human resources, not only affects the life of high-level athletes, but also affects the sustainable development of competitive sports in China. Therefore, the problem of high-level athletes’employment should be paid more attention. Guiding and adjusting the high-level athletes’expectations of employment is the key to improve the quality of employment, which has the very strong practical significance.The basic structure of the article is divided into five parts. The first part, proposes the question of the study, explores theoretical and practical significance, and study abroad were reviewed to determine the content of research and ideas. The second part makes the definition to the concepts of high-level athletes’employment expectations and describes the theory of this study, included Expectation theory, attribution theory, human capital theory, social capital theory, career planning theory. The third part, through the investigation of the high-level athletes’employment expectations and its influential factors, analyzes the current situation of high-level athletes’employment expectations from three aspects. The fourth part analyzes the influential factors of high-level athletes’employment expectations by SSPS 19.0 based on two aspects--the individual and environmental factors. The fifth part, tries to solve the problem of employment expectations by effective ways from various angles:high-level athletes themselves, family factors, school environment, social environment and so on.Based on the findings, the author proposes some constructive suggestions, which undoubtedly has theoretical significance on high-level athletes’employment expectation. At the same time, it has a more practical significance on competitive sports in China. The constructive suggestions includes leading high-level athletes to establish the correct employment expectations, paying more attention to the family education, optimizing the school employment guidance system, strengthening the social employment environment construction.
