Have high visual quality of tour guides in the process of tour, his visual interpretation and presentation skills, critical thinking ability is stronger, abundant visual information is relayed to tourists, can let visitors enjoy a visuals in the process of tour.A good tourist city image is set up in the heart of tourists. As a result, improve the guide of visual literacy is very necessary, for them to develop the particularity of the also reflect on this. As a professional tourism management students of colleges and universities, is engaged in the industry as a tour guide in the future, have high visual quality will receive the good effect of tour. In the era of the visual image, to make the tourism management students have higher visual quality, colleges and universities for their visual literacy education research has important research value.This study focus on visual literacy of university professional tourism management students present situation and the teaching practice, mainly divided into seven parts to unfold. The first part of the paper selected topic reason and the significance, the main reason is described in this paper, from the aspects of objective and subjective on the paper selected topic significance from the visual literacy education for students majoring in tourism management research to analyze the necessity, possibility and particularity.The second part is the related research status both at home and abroad, the author consult a large number of related literature at home and abroad, from the concept of visual literacy of the background, concept, and adjacent relationship and ability, to have a deeper understanding of visual literacy, and puts forward his own view of visual literacy.The third part is the visual literacy education for students majoring in tourism management research theoretical basis, mainly includes the theory of gestalt theory, landscape society, image, tourists gazing at the four parts, they are for the writing of this paper provides a theoretical support.The fourth part mainly using qualitative research methods to study the visual literacy education of university professional tourism management students, in the process of qualitative research, the author according to the American association of university and research library standards committee of the visual literacy competency standards for higher education, the content of the combination of related experts and scholars put forward the visual literacy competency dimensions, puts forward the professional tourism management students visual literacy education in colleges and universities in four dimensions. The four dimensions of visual information to find and gain ability, reading ability, visual information of the visual information, presentation skills, critical thinking ability.
