Intellectual disabilities is part of vulnerable groups, combined with their own special defects, they have difficulty in getting a job. This thesis analyzed the employment service for persons who have intellectual disabilities by using social work methods such as interviews, field observation and literature analysis based on the author’s internship experience in the Organization H of Hunan, which gives service to intellectual disabled persons. This thesis also analyzed the employment problems intellectual disabilities have according to H organization. Through the case analysis of supporting employment, this thesis tries to offer a practical solution for intellectual disabilities’employment problems and put forward some references for social workers on how to intervene intellectual disabilities employment service.This thesis is divided into four chapters to discuss the employment service of intellectual disabilities.The first chapter mainly introduced the research background, related literature review, research goal and significance, this part also made the definition of study subjects, related concepts and theories.The second chapter of the thesis mainly discusses the employment problems of intellectual disabilities, along with the necessity of the social work’s intervention in intellectual disabilities employment service and the two main models of employment service for intellectual disabled persons. At last, this part also discussed how social work to intervene in intellectual disabilities’ employment service effectively from the macro-level, meso-level and micro-level.The third chapter mainly introduced the employment service models of Organization H of Hunan, discussed social work should intervene in intellectual disabilities’employment service from the strength perspective analyzed that social workers can play quite an important role in solving intellectual disabilities’employment problems. Then, after a case study this chapter put some proposal for organizations that make service for intellectual disabled persons.Chapter Four is the conclusion of this thesis. Through this research, this part analyzed the necessity of helping intellectual disabilities in employment. This part also discusses some suggestions and measures in order to solve the problem of intellectual disabilities in employment.
