The new curriculum reform in senior high school biology education proposes a new standard that requires the teachers to be the people-oriented, to establish the concept of lifelong learning and to enhance students of biological sciences desire for knowledge. In order to adapt to the new curriculum reform, our senior high school biology teaching uses the guided learning plan, which not only reflects the central role of students in learning activities, but also emphasizes the dominance of teachers, guides students to be self-study, self-exploration, and improve students’ sense of innovation. This issue is based on the related theory, combining with my own teaching practice, and using the literature, comparative study and questionnaire, to guide the use of the case studies and practice.This paper analyzed the results of establishing new curriculum, concluding that as a teaching method, learning plan-guided teaching is aimed at turning teacher-centered teaching structure into studentcentered teaching structure. Beginning with exploring the implication of learning guide and the mode of learning plan-guided teaching, the paper explained the theoretical foundation of the occurrence of learning plan-guided teaching. Careful analysis was given to the preparation and principles of writing learning guide together with the general step and notices when employing learning guide. In order to prove the effect of learning plan-guided teaching, this study carried out research on the effectiveness of classroom teaching. The statistical analysis of student performance and the diagnose of utilizing learning guide showed that the achievement, self-learning ability and exploration ability of students improved significantly, so did the quality of teachers. Both students and teachers accepted the learning plan-guided teaching as effective.Results showed that excellent results were achieved through the use of learning plan-guided teaching. I sincerely hope that this study will help teachers and students learn more about learning guide and students will learn autonomously and obtain the ability to think in terms of essentials, so as to lay a solid foundation for being qualified personnel in new times.
