Prose as a literature genre with a long history in China, has been hailed as a "light cavalry" of literature and art. Generally people prose can be divided into broad and narrow prose. Generalized prose and novels, poetry,drama and a kind of literary style, including essays, essays, biographies and style. Prose narrow sense points to lyrical narrative as the main form of, free flexibility, short and beautiful repose of the article text. This paper mainly discusses the modern prose refers to the narrow sense prose, mainly refers to narrative prose and lyric prose.There are three parts to the paper. The first part discusses the couple of Chinese modern prose reading teaching for senior high school of the existing problems. Through practice, research and analysis, the author discovered the following several aspects: one is a teacher is not truly established the foundation of modern prose reading teaching; Secondly, the high school students of modern prose study interest is not high; Three is a teacher preparation is not enough, not in place.Papers in the second part discusses the couple of Chinese modern prose reading teaching for senior high school in the causes of the problems.Through in-depth exploration, found to have the following reasons: one is a teacher of English curriculum is strange, utilitarian heart heavy; Secondly, the students negative treatment of modern prose reading; 3 it is obsolete teaching mode, professional quality is low.Analysis in the third section discusses the new version of high school reading teaching of modern prose improvement strategy. Learning through practice, observation, sum up experience lesson, view teacher demonstration class, it is concluded that the following reading teaching strategies: one is poring over curriculum, and dilute the utilitarian heart; The second is to use a variety of ways cultivating high school students of modern prose readinginterest; Three is to improve teachers’ quality, pay attention to take the student as the main body.
