Taichi Development In Thailand And Teaching Design For Mandarin Learners Through The Use Of Taichi

Taichi is one of the most important aspects of Chinese traditional culture. Taichi helps to expand on Chinese teachings and adds interests to the learning of Chinese. However, teaching Taichi overseas has proved to have issues that make it an unsuitable form of teaching for various groups of students. The author puts forward a Taichi teaching design to suite a greater range of students abroad. The objects are the students with pre-required basic knowledge of the Chinese language and in addition show interests in Chinese culture especially in Taichi. This article focuses on methods to make the doing of Taichi the central focus of the classroom as a method to teach the Chinese language to Thai students.The whole thesis is divided into five parts as follows:The first chapter introduces the developments of Taichi educations in Thailand and the significance of the thesis.The second chapter describes the feasibility of this teaching design and analyzes the problems faced when teaching Taichi in Thai classrooms and to provide solutions to the issues.The third chapter puts forward a teaching design of TaichiThe fourth chapter descried the teaching effectiveness.The last chapter is the conclusion.
