Composition teaching is an essential part of Chinese teaching in primary school, while the writing words teaching in preliminary stage is a perquisite for the composition teaching in intermediary and advanced stages of primary school. Writing words teaching serving as a prelude will lay a solid foundation for students to have a good start in writing compositions. Students in lower grade whose thought development is in an unstable and initial stage are freshmen of primary school. Therefore, they are still unfamiliar to words writing. It will be particularly important to stimulate their interest and raise their ability of writing words. In addition, the era development brings more opportunities and challenges for writing words teaching.The Chinese Curriculum Criterion for Compulsory Education (2011 edition) proposes following requirements:being interested in writing words, writing what you want to express, and writing imaginary objects as well as writing cognition and reflection toward things around. The writer has conducted a research on writing words teaching in preliminary stage of primary school with the purpose of implementing these requirements presented by The Chinese Curriculum Criterion, fostering student’s ability to express, communicating as well as imagine and facilitating the overall development of their personality.The study firstly discusses the connotation of writing words and writing words teaching, and expounds the features and significance of that in the preliminary stage of primary school. While reviewing and analyzing related literature information, the writer conducts an investigation on writing words teaching condition of Jining Experimental Elementary School by questionnaires and interviews. From the survey and related data, it concludes the six problems existing in the teaching of writing words, which are students’ absence of writing interest, low quality of writing words, inconformity of writing topics to the students’characteristics, absence of correct guide of teachers, high grade requirements of teachers and single materials of writing teaching, then the author analyses the reasons from students, teachers and parents. On the basis of this, the author will try to put forward the relevant countermeasures to solve these problems according to current education present situation and teaching practice. The strategies includes five points which are creating a favorable atmosphere for students, focusing on improvement of teachers’qualities, sparking interest of students in writing words from many ways, optimizing teaching materials writing team and establishing multiple evaluation systems, aiming at improve the writing words teaching condition in the preliminary stage of primary school and facilitate its rapid development.
